A two-day workshop on science communication was held in Venture Centre, NCL, Pune, on 27th and 28th of August. The workshop was intended for entrepreneurs who have started their business with technological or scientific innovations. It was scheduled for a weekend to enable otherwise busy entrepreneurs to attend. However, as it happened, the participants were academic people. So I had to quickly turn around the design of the workshop to the needs of the people who were actually participating.
I focused only on the essential principles since the time was limited. The workshop was loved by the participants. And the feedback boosted my ego. But I was not happy. There was no real output from the workshop. The inputs were subcritical and the participants would go back to where they were in terms of skills.
But I gained a lot. I think I can now restructure the workshop on science writing to a three- weekend event. I will try to organise it at Venture Centre itself. The workshop will target scientists, PhD scholars and science faculty members in and around Pune.
