Workshop on Creative Scripting for Science Videos

Centre for Development of Imaging Technologies, Thiruvananthapuram and Kerala State Science and Technology Council have now joined hands to organise a workshop for improving scientific content in TV Channels. A workshop on Creative Scripting for Science Videos is being organised in C-DIT Thiruvananthapuram from 26th to 31st of October 2015. Applications are invited from Producers in TV channels, freelance producers, amateur video producers and students of TV production.

The workshop provides tips and tricks to access scientific information efficiently and to de-construct the concepts. Strategies and tools to unpack the tortuous terminologies into simple, spoken language will be explained and demonstrated. Techniques and practical tips to write and edit scripts for production of videos that engage audiences’ attention will be provided for practice by the participants.

The workshop will use presentations, group discussions, demonstrations, games and role plays to transact the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to produce good quality scripts for science videos. Workshop means work – the participants will be expected to write a script on their own, during the workshop. Though the participants are encouraged to script on topics of their own choice during the workshop, they will also be introduced to the scientific research taking place in different towns in Kerala, for follow up after the workshop.

Apply to C-DIT if you are interested. Pass it on if you know somebody who would benefit from it.
